From Sea to Shining Sea
A key feature of NCYC is the thematic village (formerly known as the thematic park). Plans for the 2017 Village are being centered on how we are called to live out our Catholic faith across the country—from sea to shining sea. In the Village, you will find a combination of interactive games and activities, including hands-on service projects, with traditional exhibit booths. Participants can make a rosary, throw a football, hear live music, and pick up resources from leading Catholic publishers all in the same venue.
In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Rise Against Hunger, NFCYM brings volunteers together to learn about the people of Burkina Faso and the hunger they face, to reflect on our Catholic call to address hunger, and to have fun packaging thousands of meals that will help save lives.
Burkina Faso suffers from cyclical droughts and flooding. Most people in Burkina Faso depend on subsistence farming, making it difficult to grow food or earn a living during times of natural disaster. Currently, there is not enough food in the country to feed all who are hungry.
Our goal is to pack a minimum of 50,000 meals for the people of Burkina Faso. At a cost of $0.50 per meal, we need to raise $25,000. The only limit to the number of meals we package is the generosity of our donors. Please prayerfully consider how you can support Helping Hands at the 2017 NCYC.
